Goals
The M.Ed. in Inclusive Teaching prepares educators to become master teachers and consultants in inclusive and specialized instruction.
Graduate study in inclusive teaching is designed for candidates seeking a master’s degree, who would qualify for the Washington State endorsement to teach inclusive and special education, or for certificated teachers to expand their skillset.
This program meets CEC Council for Exceptional Children Initial Preparation Standards.
A graduate from this program will be eligible for P-12 Special Education endorsement in Washington.
Application Requirements
- All applicants must complete the Graduate School's ApplyWeb application and pay the $100 application fee.
- Within the application you will be prompted to upload an unofficial transcript from each institution attended. If admitted, you will be asked to provide official transcripts.
- Additional application materials are specified below. Applications will not be forwarded to the department for review until all required materials have been received by the Graduate School.
- International Applicants: Please review the requirements for information regarding Degree Equivalency, English Language Proficiency and student VISA requirements.
Additional Application Requirements
- A résumé
- A statement of purpose for seeking the Inclusive Teaching (Special Education) M.Ed., not to exceed one page (approximately 500 words) in which you describe your education-related goals and how acceptance into this program will help you attain them
- Three current letters of reference
- An on-campus interview if requested by the department
In limited cases, students who do not meet departmental admission requirements may be granted provisional admission by the Graduate School.
